About University of St. Thomas

The University of St. Thomas, also known as simply UST or St. Thomas, is a private, Catholic, coeducational, liberal arts, and archdiocesan university with the main campus located in St. Paul, the capital of the US state of Minnesota and the county seat of Ramsey County, housing a number of more than 287 000 people, within its limits, as estimated during the 2000 census, which makes it the 2nd largest city in the state.

UST was established in 1885 and it currently is the state's largest private college or university, its enrollment being approximated at a number of over 10 000 students, to whom it offers 85 undergraduate and 45 graduate programs.

Athletics

St. Thomas' athletic teams are nicknamed the Tommies and they compete in NCAA Division III ( MIAC, ACCU, ACTC and ICUSTA), with 11 men and 11 women spots teams. Their distinctive colors are purple and gray and their mascot is Tommie the Tomcat.
